Earth Science Week 2014

The Society has hosted Earth Science Week since 2011. Each year we have grown and developed the events and resources that we provide throughout the week, and 2014 was the biggest yet.
Our Geoheritage
The dates for UK Earth Science Week 2014 were October 13-19, with a theme of ‘Our Geo-Heritage.’
The week raised awareness of the geological Heritage sites which exist throughout the UK, from famous landmarks like the Giant’s Causeway, to less well known areas of geological significance. As ever, we encouraged organised and self guided walking tours of geology across the UK.
Ask a Geologist Live
From Monday to Friday of Earth Science Week, five brilliant scientists agreed to field questions about their research live on Twitter.
Guided Walks
We heard from people throughout the UK organising guided geowalks to celebrate Earth Science Week.
Geobingo
With over 400 Great Geosites on our nominations list, we thought we should make the most of the amazing geosites the UK and Ireland have to offer! And so, Geobingo was born...
